Sourcing Lead with Procurement Function

With the new ownership and ambitious growth plans, MAAG Gear is looking for an experienced Sourcing Lead with Procurement Function (India). This position has been designed as a key strategic role supporting MAAG Gear’s growth in the global gearbox industry. The purpose of this role is to build and develop a competitive, resilient, and scalable supplier base in India for key industrial gearbox components, supporting strategic growth programs, cost optimization, and supply chain security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope Of Strategic Responsibilities:

• - Execution of MAAG Gear’s strategic sourcing programs in the India region, in line with the company’s long-term development strategy
• - Establishment of a regional sourcing hub for heavy and medium-duty gearboxes (cement, mining)
• - Diversification of supply sources and reduction of single-source risk for critical gearbox components
• - Support for cost-out strategy, lead-time reduction, and capacity assurance
• - Integration of Indian sourcing into MAAG’s global supply chain

Key Procurement Categories:

• - Bearings - rolling and slide bearings for industrial gearboxes
• - Forgings - forgings for shafts, gear wheels, and semi-finished parts
• - Castings - cast iron and steel castings (housings, casings, girth gears)
• - Heavy Machining - heavy machining of large gearbox components
• - Fabrication - welded structures with the final-machining

Main Responsibilities :

• - Defining and implementing the sourcing strategy for gearbox components manufactured in India
• - Actively identifying, qualifying, and developing suppliers in line with MAAG requirements (cost, quality, delivery date, EHS)
• - Leading RFQ processes, cost analyses, and contract negotiations
• - Ensuring production capacity availability (capacity reservation) for gearbox projects
• - Cooperating with Engineering , technology selection, and quality
• - Managing suppliers throughout the full cycle: from qualification to serial production
• - Supporting realization and standardization projects for MAAG gearboxes
• - Placing and monitoring purchase orders to ensure timely execution and delivery

Operational Responsibility:

• - Supervising the execution of strategic and project-related purchase order
• - Monitoring supplier KPIs and initiating corrective actions
• - Escalating material, technological, and logistic risks
• - Close cooperation with logistics and production planning

• - Successful implementation of regional sourcing strategy aligned with global procurement objectives

• - Reduced supply chain risks through effective diversification of suppliers and elimination of
  single-source dependencies
• - Secured and stable production capacity for strategic gearbox projects in line with business growth plans
• - Improved lead times and increased supply reliability across key procurement categories
• - Strong, long-term partnerships with qualified and high-performing suppliers in India
• - Effective integration of Indian sourcing operations into the global supply chain structure
• - High level of supplier performance (KPIs) with continuous monitoring and improvement actions in place
• - Successful support of standardization and product development initiatives in cooperation with Engineering and Quality

IDEAL QUALIFICATION

• - Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement in the heavy industry sector
• - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• - Very good knowledge of industrial gearbox manufacturing processes
• - Ability to perform manufacturing cost analysis (make or buy)
• - Strong negotiation and project management skills
• - Experience in international environment
• - Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), Teamcenter
